If we speak of a primary center for treatment of mental illness in Wisconsin, Winnebago Mental Health Institute or WMHI is the first facility that comes to mind.
Located at Lake Winnebagos west shore, this state facility has about 1300 admissions every year and an average of 250 patients.
The facility was constructed in 1871.
Originally named Northern Asylum for the Insane, its name was later changed to Winnebago State Hospital before the name was again changed to Winnebago Mental Health Institute.
Basically, WMHIs services can be grouped into three areas.
The first one is called Adult Service 1, consisting of forensic units.
The second area is called Adult Service 2, for adults that are multiply impaired, and those requiring treatment for behavior modification, substance abuse and mental illnesses.
The third unit, Youth Services, is for children and adolescents that are multiply impaired and those who are mentally ill and have substance abuse disorder.

As a traveling nurse you will need to be able to adapt to your surroundings quickly.
Since s/he will be traveling to new areas and dealing with different jobs on each assignment the traveling nurse accepts this is one very important draw backs to the job if you are not able to adapt quickly.
Since nursing deals a lot with interaction to patients and your co-workers if you are a shy person then meeting new people constantly may also be a drawback.
If you take a long time to build a good working interaction with your co-workers becoming a traveling nurse may be a drawback.
As a traveling nurse you need to be able to adjust to out of the ordinary situations and the unexpected.
If you like and are more comfortable in surroundings that you know and are familiar with then a career as a traveling nurse may not be the wise choice for you as you are constantly changing your surroundings.

Both diabetics and obesity are linked to kidney failure.
There are many people who are both diabetic and obese and they have an increased risk of being diagnosed with serious kidney problems that lead to dialysis or the need for a transplant.
Kidney failure and damage in a diabetic patient is known as diabetic nephropathy.
The kidneys job is to clean the blood but when the blood has excess sugar (glucose) present it causes damage to the kidneys.
This damage can happen even before someone knows they are diabetic or if they are not diabetic bur are considered obese.
High blood sugars that are present in the bodies of obese people and diabetics are a problem to these organs and other functions in body.
There really arent any symptoms for the early signs of kidney damage.
You probably will not know that it is occurring unless your doctor performs a test to check for protein in your urine (done with a dip stick in the office).
